POEMS

FEELINGS FOR YOU

When I smile at you it's my disguise

Trying to hide the pain in my eyes.

I know you won't open your heart to me,

But I'll search this world till I find the key.

Maybe someone has hurt you before

and you're afraid it will happen again

But I'm not out to hurt you

It's your heart I want to win.

I won't be happy until you're in my arms

and I know that you're finally mine,

But I'll keep hunting far and near

Until your love I find.

I don't know what to think

I don't know what you want me to be

I just know that I want you

And I hope that you want me.

CAN'T YOU SEE?

look into my eyes.

can't you see it there?

listen to my words.

can't you see I care?

feel my heart beating.

can't you see it beats true?

hear my gentle whispers.

can't you see I love you?

(no title)

Keep your eyes upon me

keep me in your sight

Help me down the crooked road

lead me to the light

The road I'm on is dark

I'm not sure I know the way

Yet with you right beside me

I'm certain I won't stray

Protect me from the world

I know we'll make it through

Give me all the strength I need

let me lean on you

True Friends

A true friend listens to what you say

Life's a sculpture, friends are clay

Friends are notes to life's great song

A melody that carries you along

Whether it's a joy or fear

Whenever life is hard, they're near

In a world of darkness, friends are light

So thank your lucky stars tonight

When life gets hard and goals seem far

It's then you'll know

who your true friends are

Tears

A sign of sadness

An indication of pain

Symbols of sorrow

That fall like rain

Each drop of water

Each single tear

Signifies suffering

And reveals inner fears

After a While

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul,

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security,

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises,

And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child,

And you learn to build all your roads today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans.

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone else to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you can really endure...

That you really are strong,

And you really do have worth.
